The May 16, 2023 event was the first since 2019 to be in person. Lydia Todd (Caring Force Committee Chair) and Michael Weekes (President/CEO of Providers Council) hosted.
Speakers talked about the challenges of being a service provider and the need for a living wage. They included Elaina Schreckenberger (ABCD), Tonya Morris (My Life My Choice), Olivia Moultrie and Alaisha Gilds (Service Net) and Karen Pierre-Louis (JRI).
Senate President Karen Spilka spoke, and presented Michael Weekes with a special bear for his years of service at the Providers Council. He will be retiring this year.
Legislator recipients of the 2023 Care Bear awards were Senator Joanne Comerford and Representative Jack Lewis.
