Danya, Mikaela and Kyla traveled to Washington in July for the National Council on Independent Living Annual Conference. The highlight of this conference is a march and rally at the Capital, and then visits with Senators and Congress people.  This annual event is a chance for independent living staff and advocates to grow as they meet and attend workshops.  This conference is also an opportunity for staff and advocates to educate their legislators in Washington on how important Independent Living is to so many people with disabilities.
