MetroWest Center for Independent Living is searching for additional dynamic individuals to serve on its Board of Directors, which governs the agency’s day-to-day operations. Board members must be passionate about equality for all, regardless of gender, age, culture, religion, and physical abilities.
If you are committed to improving the lives of people with disabilities, you are welcome to apply to serve on our board. Board member responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Ensure MWCIL remains responsive to those they serve.
- Promote the independent living philosophy of consumer control regarding decision making.
- Participate and contribute to resource development.
- Participate in outreach and advocacy efforts.

The MetroWest Center for Independent Living (MWCIL) provides an array of independent living services that enable people with disabilities to live in the community. The center was created by people with disabilities seeking full integration into society. We empower people with disabilities by teaching the practical skills and confidence to take control over their lives and become active members of the communities in which they live. We promote access and change within society while advocating for programs and services needed by people of all ages with a wide range of disabilities. MWCIL is a consumer‑controlled, community‑based, cross‑disability, nonresidential private nonprofit agency.
